Virtuoso Marketplace FAQs

Answers to common questions related to Virtuoso Marketplace.

Can I see the Composer flow of a published agent on Virtuoso Marketplace to see how it's working behind the scenes?

It depends on if the agent's publisher allowed visibility into the Composer flow. By default, published agents are locked down to prevent access to the publisher's intellectual property (IP).

I'm trying to submit an agent, but the submission button is available, why is that?

Typically the Submit to Review button is missing because you have not completed the Virtuoso Certification courses and your user is not flagged as such.

I have completed the Virtuoso Certification courses but I still don't see the agent submission button, how can I resolve this?

If you've successfully completed all Virtuoso Certification courses and still don't see the Submit to Review button, then it's likely that your user record is missing the certification confirmation and that needs to be corrected manually by a Virtuoso Marketplace administrator.

Should we build Virtuoso agents leveraging Yardi Data Connect (YDC) reports?

Whenever possible, Yardi recommends that you avoid using Yardi Data Connect (YDC) reports when building standard agents within Virtuoso Marketplace. If YDC reports must be use, then we ask that you only use the standard YDC reports and not custom reports. If possible, use the available agent tools to create your agents.

Why does Yardi not recommend using custom Yardi Data Connect (YDC) reports in Virtuoso agent builds?

When a Virtuoso agent is downloaded from Virtuoso Marketplace into a customer's environment, the only thing downloaded into the environment is the agent. Using custom, non-standard Yardi Data Connect (YDC) reports can cause errors for the customer when running the agent as it's unlikely that they have the custom YDC report within their environment.

For custom agents built directly for the client, any YDC report is okay. For standard agents, instead of using a custom YDC report, we recommend leveraging the standard agent tools within Composer to build published agents.

On the My Agent overview screen of a published agent, can I update the general agent metadata, such as Full Description, the logo , etc. without submitting a new agent version to be published?

Yes, you can edit much of the top portion of the agent overview screen and those changes will appear without submitting a new version of the agent. These fields include:

  • Agent Name

  • Short Description

  • Full Description

  • Make Editable in Virtuoso Composer

  • Logo

  • Badges

Where do we download the JSON file to upload it to the Flow Data JSON field on the Submit for Review - Agent Version Details screen? It's currently blank.

The JSON should automatically populate based on the agent you've created within Virtuoso Composer. If it's show up blank, it's possible the agent version's Composer flow was not saved prior to coming to this screen and is therefore empty.

Is there a complete Virtuoso agent sample that I can review to verify that the steps I have taken to create my agent are accurate?

Yes, you can find an example agent in our Example Virtuoso Agent built within Virtuoso Composer article.
